FECAVA (Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations) decided on 8th of November 2014 to give Estonia the right to organize the 24th FECAVA Eurocongress. 900 delegates is expected to participate in the event taking place in Tallinn in 2018.

4-day congress gives Estonian companion animals veterinarians a chance to meet top specialists from all around the world.

Lisbon, Portugal and St. Petersburg, Russia also competed for a right to organize the congress.

“One of Estonia´s strengths were its thorough and thought-out application documents,” said Janne Orro, president of the Estonian Small Animals Veterinary Society. “PCO Publicon helped us in compiling the documents, they are also our partners in organizing the event.”

Among other things the ecological footprint of the congress will be calculated and enough trees will be planted to neutralize the environmental impact.

Dealing with environmental topics and “going green” is an everyday occurrence in conference business all around the world, Liis Käosaar, partner of the PCO Publicon said. “When bringing an international event to Estonia, is crucial that we would also take that into consideration,” she added.

FECAVA (Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations) enables all its members to get the latest news considering their profession and exchange on an interactive way with colleagues all over Europe. FECAVA Eurocongress is an annual event. Munich, Germany was the organizing country in 2014. There hasn’t been an international veterinary medicine congress with this scale in Estonia before.
